The short version
Cookies are small text files a website may store on your device. This site uses as few as possible.
We never set non-essential cookies before you tell us you're happy with them. If you change your mind, you can withdraw consent at any time using the button below.
Change Cookie PreferencesWhat we use, and why
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration | Consent |
|---|---|---|---|
| Essential — Kit form | Lets the email signup form remember you've already submitted, so you don't see it again on the same visit. | Session | No consent required (strictly necessary) |
| Consent record (localStorage) | Remembers your cookie choices so we don't keep asking on every page. Stored in your browser's localStorage, not a cookie. Not transmitted to us or anyone else. | Until you clear browser data, or click Change Cookie Preferences | Not a cookie — no PECR/GDPR obligation, but disclosed for transparency |
| _ga, _ga_* | Google Analytics 4 — anonymised page-view statistics, traffic sources, and link clicks. Set by Google; IP addresses anonymised before processing. | _ga: 2 years · _ga_*: 2 years | Opt-in — only set if you accept |
What we do not use. No advertising cookies. No retargeting pixels. No social-media share trackers. No third-party advertising networks. The page is built to be read, not surveilled.
How consent works
The first time you visit the site, a small banner appears at the bottom of the screen offering two options: Accept analytics or Reject. Both options dismiss the banner. Closing the banner without choosing is treated as "reject" — analytics will not run.
Your choice is saved in a small consent-record cookie so we don't ask again on every page. You can change your mind any time by clicking the Change Cookie Preferences button above.
If you've blocked cookies entirely in your browser, the banner will appear on every visit (because we can't remember your choice). That's not us — that's how cookies work.
Browser-level controls
Every modern browser lets you view, manage, and delete cookies. The exact path differs slightly:
You can also use "Do Not Track" or Global Privacy Control signals. If your browser sends GPC, we treat it as an automatic opt-out of analytics, regardless of what's stored in our consent cookie.
